Aaron Kubinski, DO

Where are you from?
I was born in Denver, CO but spent most of my childhood in New Mexico. However, I have been living in Phoenix, AZ the past 7 years.
Why did you choose UA Sports Medicine?
I wanted a program that provided a wide variety event coverage of highly competitive collegiate sports. Outside of that, I really clicked with the faculty during my interview, which is extremely important for me when looking at programs.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?
I love being outdoors and Tucson is a beautiful city with warm weather, great hiking and mountains nearby, and I’ve heard that the food scene is amazing.
What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine?
I love exercising in general. I enjoy weightlifting but recently took up triathlons and completed my first Iron Man 70.3 last year. I also love cooking, golf, and skiing.
What are your professional interests within Medicine?
I truly enjoy being a primary care physician that focuses on prevention and believe everyone is an athlete in some shape or form. Whether you are a professional athlete or a retired gardener, life is all about movement and staying active, which is why I have developed a passion for sports medicine. I’m interested in learning more POCUS and ultrasound guided procedures and being able to incorporate that into my primary care practice.
Favorite way to spend a day off?
Starting out with a workout in the home gym, followed by a morning trip to a local coffee shop with the family and grabbing dinner ingredients at the local farmer’s market. Then meeting up with friends at a local brewery for a happy hour and finishing up by cooking a new dinner recipe for at home.
Top item on your "Bucket list"?
I want to be an extra in a major movie with at least one line.
